Cordele Facility Receives ISO Certification
After eight months of successful operation, Goldens’ Foundry & Machine Co. – Cordele Plant announced today the successful completion of the ISO 9001:2000 audit.
Lloyd’s Register, a preeminent auditing firm based in London, U.K., officially added the new plant to the company’s Certificate of Approval. The Columbus facility also received high marks and no major nonconformities.
Jamie Casselberry, Goldens’ ISO Coordinator, effectively implemented in a short span of time the quality control systems which have been in place in the Columbus facility, while adapting the program to the unique nature of the higher-volume foundry and machine shop in Cordele.
“It was important for us to receive full certification in Cordele, and it fully supports our position we have a world-class foundry there,” said Ed Boyd, vice president. “Our commitment to establishing this new foundry as the best cope-and-drag foundry in the United States is solid. With the ISO certification, we continue to lay the groundwork, and our customers are seeing the results of our determination.”
The audit gave high marks to the robust quality program developed to support operations in Cordele, and found “the certificate of approval shows that the foundation, if not the entirely effective implementation, of the quality management system has successfully been established at the facility.”
Goldens’-Columbus first received ISO certification in 1997, and has maintained the certification without interruption. To request a copy of Goldens’ ISO 9001:2000 certification, please contact John Boyd, jboyd@gfmco.com.
