Goldens’ Foundry Supports Troops in Iraq for new MRAP Vehicle

Columbus, GA – Goldens’ Foundry and Machine Co. announced today the company has been awarded the honor of producing two key castings for the new Mine Resisted Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle.
The development of the MRAP vehicle has become a high-visibility item due to its potential of protecting U.S. soldiers from road side bombs and IEDs in Iraq and Afghanistan. The new vehicle, one of a family of vehicles to be developed and put into service over the next few years, utilizes advanced armor and engineering design to improve protection from explosions. The new vehicles are expected to replace the HMMWV.
“This is a major undertaking, and we are pleased to support the expertise going in to the design of these new vehicles,” said Conrad Brumbach, Quality Manager for Goldens’.
Goldens’ Foundry and Machine Co. has supported the armed forces throughout its history, and will continue to provide quality engineering and flawless castings to support this vehicle initiative.
